Welcome to the course
Welcome to the TREnD Staff Training Program, a professional development course designed for instructors, teachers, and educators who are looking for practical and innovative approaches to teaching and learning in higher education.
The course is built around four expert-led training sessions that introduce key elements of the TREnD methodology. Through a combination of conceptual insights, real-world examples, and practical guidance, participants will explore how digital technologies, international collaboration, and sustainability-focused pedagogies can be integrated into their own teaching practice.
Across the four modules, you will:
- Explore Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and virtual exchange as tools for global learning and intercultural collaboration.
- Examine the principles and applications of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in higher education.
- Learn how critical mapping can help students investigate environmental and social challenges through a critical lens.
- Discover the opportunities and limitations of Virtual and Extended Reality (VR/XR) for immersive and experiential learning.
By the end of the programme, participants will have a deeper understanding of innovative teaching approaches that promote global engagement, critical thinking, sustainability awareness, and meaningful student participation.
The four modules are based on recorded webinars delivered as part of the TREnD Staff Training Event Series and can be completed at your own pace.
